The term "Holocaust Uniqueness" is a misnomer. Holocaust was not unique! It was a Kingdom of Evil, in which human cruelty, indifference, irrationality, reached its zenith, never to be matched.

Holocaust Cruelty
Never in human history were innocent children thrown alive into crematoria ovens, families choked with cyclone, people slaughtered like animals in slaughterhouses, or innocent victims drowned in their own blood. Never was a whole nation crucified with such cruelty.

Human indifference
Never were so many killed without a stir of sympathy. Most of the bystanders were cheering onlookers. The Churches - the guardians of morality maintained a well guarded silence. The Allies looked the other way and the killings were covered with a shroud of silence, a deadly shroud of silence. Shores were closed for the escapees from hell and escapees from death camps were murdered mercilessly.

Irrationality.
Human societies were never rational but the irrationality reached its peak, its zenith, during the Holocaust. Wholesale slaughter performed by civilized people served only to satisfy the whim of the irrational Fuhrer. Killings of people, the valuable human resources, served no purpose and was against the interest of the German people and even of the Nazi Party. The removal of the Jewish people from Europe, did not improve the living conditions of the bystanders Nations, did not improve the moral authority of the Christian Churches.

ConclusionsDespite thousands of books, hundreds of films and scholarly dissertations, I believe that there is a general lack understanding of the Holocaust, this Post-Messianic Kingdom of Evil. This lack of understanding , and "knowing" is the crux of the recent Holocaust Museum appointment controversy. For me personally, any comparison to the Kingdom of Evil, is painfully shocking because of its lack of sensitivity and empathy.
